Director - Real Estate

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Source, underwrite and manage commercial real estate (“CRE”) investments; distressed commercial real estate/NPL experience, particularly in hospitality, a plus
  • Maintain relationships with potential transaction counterparties, brokers, investment bankers, lenders, consultants, and operating partners
  • Identify prospective investment targets and develop investment thesis
  • Act as primary interface for transaction counterparty
  • Lead deal negotiation and structuring including sourcing financing for transaction
  • Oversee due diligence process and present final investment recommendation to Paceline Investment Committee
  • Oversee implementation of asset management plan and interface with operating partners to ensure execution of major strategic or financial initiatives

Skill & Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience within commercial real estate asset management, private equity or investment banking.
  • Outstanding academic results and a Bachelor’s degree preferred in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics from a leading academic institution. CFA or MBA would be an advantage.
  • Strong sourcing network for distressed and special situations CRE investment opportunities with focus on non-performing loans
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team player
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment
  • Advanced understanding of investment risk; prior experience with asset level underwriting and restructuring distressed investments is important
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines while working on several projects in conjunction with one another
