Associate - Real Estate
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analysis/underwriting of investment opportunities and assist in development of new investment theses across all real estate asset classes
- Financial modeling and valuation
- Preparation of presentation materials to investment committee and fund investors
- Participation in deal due diligence and management of outside service providers
- Creation and review of cash flows, budgets, operating and capital plans for fund investments
- Work with operating partners and management teams in developing and executing major strategic or financial initiatives
- Monitoring and reporting on the fund’s investments
- Maintain relationships with brokers, operating partners, investors, investment bankers, lenders, consultants, etc.
Skill & Experience:
- 2+ years’ experience within real estate private equity, asset management, investment banking, or corporate finance / valuation teams. Experience with both corporate finance and direct real estate acquisitions experience is strongly preferred
- Outstanding academic results and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics from a leading academic institution
- Highly quantitative; demonstrable financial modeling and evaluation skills are critical. In particular, a good understanding of asset level underwriting is important
- Extraordinary focus on details, accuracy, and quality
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines while working on several projects in conjunction with one another
- Strong interpersonal skills and team player
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); working knowledge of Argus a plus
- Experience with CoStar, Bloomberg, REIS, and other financial information sources
